YOU AND ME

By Lee Brock

A marvelous thing I've come to see,
That other folks aren't just like me.
They do not walk the way I walk,
Nor do they talk the way I talk.

We do not have the same dislikes:
We don't all ride on ten speed bikes.
We don't all like zucchini squash;
On Monday, all don't do the wash.

Some folks are black and some are white,
Or something else, and that's all right.
Some like dogs and some like cats,
And some wear caps and some wear hats.

Some folks are short, and some are tall;
Some play squash, and some football.
Some folks are bald and some have hair;
Some sit on couches , some on a chair.

If all of you were just like me,
What an awful bore our lives would be.
Thank God we're not all just alike:
I'll take a Buick, you ride the bike.
