Lee Brock's 2005 Christmas Letter

A lovely November came to a close,
Right after Thanksgiving we got our first snows:
The farmers are happy the ground is all white:
Below twenty degrees is cold in the night.

That all just reminds us that Christmas is near
And shortly thereafter we start a new year.
Two thousand and six can’t be a lot better,
But in the Northwest we do hope it is wetter.

We traveled around in two thousand and five;
We grew a year older, but still we’re alive.
With Buddy and family; went to Delaware’s beach,
Financially we found it just barely in reach.

With Travis and Cheryl we spent the fourth
Enjoying the day for all it was worth;
Saw a parade, a patriotic delight,
And watched the fireworks in Pullman that night.

At Bonners Ferry, we met friends in July;
Fifty years as a church, My how the times fly!
In August we went to a senior’s "to do"
Buddy’s old enough now to go along too.

In September and October we each grew a year older;
That doesn’t necessarily make us grow bolder.
November; we timidly took the airplane again
To visit, in Texas, our kith and our kin.

Now we’re wishing a Merry Christmas to you,
We believe that’s what Jesus would have us to do.
He came as a babe in Bethlehem’s stall,
Offering salvation to one and to all.

May you choose Him to be the Lord of your life,
To see you through your stress and your strife.
Walk joyful with Him each day of the year,
May His living presence guard you from fear.
Love, from Lee and Frances Brock
