When I Shall See Him

By Lee Brock

When I see Jesus coming; like Him I shall be:
What a glorious reunion and change you will see:
Then I shall become what He planned for me:
Conformed to the image of His original plan,
When in the beginning He created the man.

That image was marred by Adam’s first sin,
And greatly compounded by mine added in.
God broke the old image, and formed it again,
When my heart responded to the Master’s skilled hand,
And a new vessel emerged, before Him to stand.

Now I look for His coming to complete a new man:
When I shall be like Him, according to His plan,
And shout to His glory, "Behold this new man."
When I see Jesus coming, like Him I shall be;
What a glorious reunion and change you shall see.

September

SEPTEMBER
By Lee Brock

The dog days of summer have bidden adieu;
Now beautiful September makes her debut.
She paints her skies in the loveliest blue:
Her stars like sequins shine all the night through.

She fills her gardens with pumpkins of gold;
Blue jays in pine trees chatter and scold:
Deer from the forest grow wondrously bold.
September has beauty I love to behold.

October is waiting to join the parade:
We look for her coming, and are not afraid.
The leaves on her trees turn a beautiful shade
Of gold and red. Their fruit they have made.

November lurks behind skies of gray:
Don't let her coming darken your day.
Cold gray November doesn't come here to stay;
With a day of Thanksgiving we'll send her away.

Brilliant December, with sparkling snow,
Will make us wonder; where did the year go?
In it we'll remember our Lord's day of birth,
And sing with the angels of His peace on earth.
